Athena Thompson has over 22 years experience as a Natural Health Specialist with undergraduate and graduate degrees in Natural and Environmental Health Sciences. She is currently engaged in post-graduate studies. Athena previously established and managed her own Natural Health Clinic in England before moving to the United States. A mother herself, she specializes in environmental health relating to children’s issues.
Athena is a member of the American Academy
of Environmental Medicine (AAEM),
which is comprised of some of the most esteemed environmental
health specialists in the world.
As a certified Bau-biologist (Building Biologist), Athena is considered a leading proponent in this internationally recognized approach to healthy construction. She is also an Advisory Board Member of the International Institute for Bau-biologie and Ecology based in Clearwater, Florida.
To encourage a more health conscious approach in the building industry, Athena co-founded Humabuilt, Healthy Building Solutions. Humabuilt consults with architects, builders, developers and individuals to create healthier built environments, as well as providing affordable, high-performance products and solutions to the building community worldwide.
Athena received her B.A. from Naropa University
in Boulder, Colorado where she was a faculty member. She received
her Masters in Natural Health Sciences from the University
of Natural Medicine in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
